USA
The buying or selling of sex services is illegal in the United States except in Nevada. Here brothels are licensed in various parts of the state. Prostitution, solicitation or agreeing to participate in prostitution are punishable offences.
Germany
Prostitution is legal and regulated in Germany. Brothels are registered businesses which don’t necessarily require a brothel licence. If liquor and food are served, both liquor and food licensing are required. Prostitutes pay income taxes and are required to charge a VAT ( Value added tax) for their sexual services.
Netherlands
Dutch legalized prostitution in the mid-1800s and later recognized prostitution as a legal profession in the 1980s.In October 2000, the Netherlands lifted bans on pimping and brothels. Right now the sex industry is regulated by labour law with sex workers being registered. Municipalities are tasked with issuing sex workers with licences and conducting inspections to make sure they have quality standard working conditions.
Employing prostitutes over the age of consent is legal, however, all forms of exploitation in the sex industry including forced prostitution and trafficking are criminalized under the Dutch Penal Code.

Argentina
The Association of Women Prostitutes of Argentina (AMMAR) is considered one of the world’s largest sex worker organizations. Laws in Argentina permit provinces to arrest sex workers for offensive behaviour.
Exchanging sex acts for money is legalized in the country. Argentina however criminalizes efforts like pimping and brothels.
UK
Prostitution is legal in the United Kingdom however acts related to prostitution are against the law. Private prostitution or working as an escort is not an offence. Causing and controlling sex work for personal gain is not legal. Human trafficking, pimping and “kerb-crawling” as well as soliciting street sex are criminal offences.
Mexico
Prostitution is decriminalized in Mexico but states regulate the sex industry and require sex workers to be registered and attain at least 18 years of age.
Sex workers are required to obtain regular health checks and to show their health card to prove good health. Pimping and owning brothels are illegal however underage prostitution and sex trafficking are prevalent in the country.
Japan
Prostitution is legalized in Japan except for vaginal and heterosexual intercourse. Some advertisements detail what each sex worker will do( anal sex, oral sex etc) sighted in the country however several prostitutes disregard this law.
